Shoal study continues

Continue my work with the" Shoal of Sardines" painting. Just want to be able to use sweeping strokes with the brush and not get caught up with detail...that is when painting is fun for me. But I have to get the shape of those sardines right!

Wonderful Quote from movie "A Dog of Flanders"
Jan. 31, 2012
"Do you give lessons?"
"You don't need lessons right now. The main thing is to keep drawing from your heart the way you do. And examine, look at things. The greater part of drawing comes before you even touch the paper. Ask questions. Find out what things are made of. Store information for the inner eye; an eye for intuition." From the movie, "A Dog of Flanders"

Shoal of Sardines

Much of the time I just paint, but in between or concurrently I work on a study. A study is what I am doing with "Shoal." It all began after reading the description of sardine harvesting in the book "Zeitoun" by Dave Eggers. I so much much wanted to paint it, but needed to learn more.
My study continues, but wanted to share some of my experiments using only Winsor blue (green shade), Alizarin Crimson and Aureolin and for that special effect - Winsor & Newton Water Colour Iridescent Medium.
